Custom printed ice cream cups are food-grade paper cups printed with your brand artwork and built with a moisture-barrier lining that holds up to frozen product and condensation. Available in 3oz to 16oz sizes, kraft or white board, PE or compostable PLA linings, with matching flat and dome lids shipped nationwide across the United States.
A scoop shop moving 400 servings a day hands out 400 branded impressions if the cup is right. Most aren’t.
Here’s what goes wrong. A cup comes out of the freezer, sweats through a thin uncoated wall, and the sidewall softens in the customer’s hand. A logo printed with the wrong ink system scuffs off in the case. A stack of cups won’t denest cleanly, so a server fumbles two or three during a rush. A lid ordered from a different supplier sits a millimeter proud of the rim and pops off in a delivery bag.
None of these are cosmetic problems. They’re operational ones, and they cost more than the cups do.
Getting custom ice cream cups right means specifying board weight, lining, rim geometry, and ink chemistry for a product that lives at 0°F and gets handled with wet hands. That’s a manufacturing question before it’s a design question and it’s the part most suppliers skip past to get to the artwork.
We manufacture custom printed ice cream cups and matching food packaging for frozen dessert brands across the United States. You send artwork or a rough concept; we handle structural specification, dieline creation, printing, forming, and delivery.
The scope covers single-wall and double-wall paper cups from 3oz tasting sizes through 16oz family portions, sundae cups, gelato cups with wide shallow profiles, frozen yogurt cups sized for self-serve toppings bars, and matching lids in paper, PET, or dome configurations. We also produce the surrounding packaging pint containers, cone sleeves, carriers, and mailer cartons so a full brand system stays visually consistent across every touchpoint.
Everything is printed with food-safe, FDA-compliant inks applied to the exterior surface only. Interior surfaces stay uncoated or barrier-lined, never printed.
Cold-chain specification, not guesswork. Frozen dessert packaging fails differently than dry food packaging. We spec board weight and lining based on your product’s dwell time, freezer temperature, and whether cups move through delivery. A cup for a walk-up window and a cup for a 25-minute DoorDash ride are not the same cup.
Print consistency across reorders. We hold Pantone targets and archive press profiles per SKU. Your third run matches your first which matters when cups sit next to each other on a shelf or in a photo.
Short-run and production-scale capability. Digital printing handles pilot batches and seasonal flavors without demanding a full offset minimum. High-volume litho takes over when your numbers justify it. You aren’t forced into a quantity that outruns your storage or your shelf life.
Straight answers on sustainability. Compostable means certified compostable, with documentation. We tell you plainly whether a PLA-lined cup is accepted by industrial composting in your region, and we track PFAS restrictions in states including California, Washington, New York, and Minnesota so your packaging stays compliant as those rules tighten.
Nationwide fulfillment. Serving ice cream brands, gelato shops, franchises, and wholesale distributors throughout the USA, with freight coordination for multi-location rollouts.
Virgin SBS paperboard in 250–350 GSM gives the cleanest print surface and the crispest color. This is the standard choice when brand color fidelity drives the decision.
Kraft board delivers the unbleached, natural look that pairs well with small-batch and artisan positioning. Print sits differently on kraft colors read warmer and darker so we proof accordingly rather than sending you a surprise.
Linings:
Offset lithography for large runs with tight color tolerance. Digital printing for short runs, seasonal SKUs, and versioned artwork useful when you want twelve flavor variants without twelve separate press setups. Flexographic printing for very high volumes on simpler artwork.
Finishes include matte and gloss varnish, soft-touch coating, spot UV, and foil stamping. On frozen packaging, matte varnish generally outperforms gloss for handling it hides condensation marks and resists fingerprinting.
Flat paper lids, clear PET flat lids, dome lids for topping-heavy builds, vented lids, and paper dome lids for fully fiber-based programs. Lids are matched to your cup’s exact rim diameter and curl, tested for seal on the actual production run rather than assumed from a spec sheet.
Spoons, napkins, carriers, and pint containers can be printed to match.
Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF) in CMYK, 300 DPI minimum for raster elements, with 1/8″ bleed on the supplied dieline. Don’t have print-ready art? Our design team builds it from your logo and brand guidelines and returns a dielined proof before anything goes to press.
Every serving becomes a branded impression. Printed cups turn a disposable into a marketing surface one that gets photographed, posted, and carried through a mall or a park.
Fewer operational failures. Correct rim curl means cups denest on the first pull. Correct lining means no soft sidewalls at the register. These sound small until you count them across a summer.
Delivery and third-party ready. Properly specified cups survive the trip. Direct-printed branding doesn’t peel off the way condensation-exposed labels do.
Lower cost per unit at scale. Buying cups wholesale in production quantities lands well below distributor pricing on stock cups often while giving you a better cup.
Regulatory cover. PFAS-free and food-contact-compliant materials keep you clear of the state-level restrictions that are expanding year over year.
One system, one look. Cups, cone sleeves, pints, and carriers printed to the same color standard so the brand holds together.
1. Consultation. Tell us your product, volume, sizes, and where the cups get used counter service, delivery, retail freezer, or all three. This conversation determines the spec.
2. Quote and material recommendation. You get pricing across a few realistic material and quantity combinations, not a single take-it-or-leave-it number. We’ll say which option we’d pick and why.
3. Dieline and digital proof. We build the structural dieline and place your artwork, then send a digital proof showing exactly how the print wraps the cone-shaped blank where the seam falls, how the logo distorts, what sits in the safe zone.
4. Physical sample. For new programs, we produce a physical sample. Fill it. Freeze it. Put a lid on it and shake it. Approve the cup you can actually hold.
5. Production. Printing, die-cutting, forming, rim curling, and quality inspection. Color is checked against your approved Pantone targets throughout the run.
6. Delivery. Packed for freight and shipped nationwide, with tracking. Multi-location orders can ship split to individual addresses.
Typical timelines run a few weeks from proof approval for standard programs. Rush production is available when a seasonal launch date won’t move.
Independent ice cream parlors and scoop shops. Gelato shops and artisan dessert makers. Frozen yogurt brands running self-serve toppings bars. Cafés and bakeries adding a dessert line. Restaurants plating dessert for takeout. Food trucks and mobile vendors who need packaging that survives outdoor service. Catering companies serving portioned desserts at volume. Retailers and grocery brands selling single-serve frozen dessert. Wholesale distributors supplying multiple foodservice accounts. Franchise groups standardizing packaging across locations.
If you serve frozen dessert in a cup, the cup should be working for your brand rather than against it.
What sizes do custom ice cream cups come in?
Standard sizes run 3oz through 16oz. Most scoop shops use 5oz or 6oz for a single scoop and 8oz or 12oz for sundaes and frozen yogurt. Custom tooling for non-standard profiles is available for larger programs.
Are these cups actually freezer-safe?
Yes. The PE or PLA lining creates a moisture barrier that prevents the board from absorbing condensation and softening. This is the single most important spec on a frozen dessert cup, and it’s the one stock cups most often get wrong.
Can I get eco-friendly or compostable ice cream cups?
Yes PLA-lined compostable cups with BPI certification, and repulpable aqueous-coated cups where industrial composting isn’t available locally. We’ll tell you honestly which one actually gets composted or recycled in your region rather than selling you a claim you can’t support.
What’s the minimum order?
Minimums depend on size, material, and print method digital printing allows far smaller runs than offset. Contact us with your target quantity and we’ll confirm what’s available for your specific spec.
How much do custom printed ice cream cups cost?
Unit cost is driven by size, board weight, lining, number of print colors, and quantity. Custom cups at production volume typically cost less per unit than stock cups bought through a distributor. We quote several quantity tiers so you can see exactly where the price breaks land.
Will my colors match my other packaging?
Yes, within the limits of each substrate. We work to Pantone targets and archive press profiles per SKU. Note that kraft board shifts color warmer than white SBS if you’re running both, we proof both so there are no surprises.
Can you print lids and spoons to match?
Yes. Flat lids, dome lids, PET lids, spoons, napkins, cone sleeves, and pint containers can all be produced as a matched system.
Send us your artwork, your sizes, and your volume. You’ll get material recommendations, tiered pricing, and a dielined digital proof before you commit to anything.

At Ono Custom Boxes, our Artwork Preparation Guide helps ensure your custom packaging design is print-ready for high-quality results. To get started, submit vector files (AI, EPS, or PDF) in CMYK color mode, with a 1/8 inch bleed and 300 DPI resolution. Convert all text to outlines and keep it at least 1/4 inch from the edges. Review your proof to ensure accuracy before submitting. Following these steps will guarantee your design is perfectly printed on your custom boxes.

The cut line is the outline that marks where your custom packaging will be trimmed. It is typically represented by a solid black line in your artwork file.

The bleed line is the area extending beyond the cut line, usually marked with a green line in your artwork. Typically, a 1/8 inch (0.125") bleed is required to prevent any unwanted white borders.

The crease line, marked by red lines in your artwork, indicates where the box will be folded during production.

Perforation lines, shown as dotted black lines, indicate where the box will have small, evenly spaced holes for easy tearing or separation. These are often used for tear-away sections.

The safety margin, marked by dotted green lines, is the area around the cut line where important elements (such as text, logos, or graphics) should be kept clear.
